The Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV) – National Mosque Open Day
The Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV) is proud to be a part of National Mosque Open Day (NMOD) – an initiative run by the Lebanese Muslim Association (LMA) and proudly supported by the Department of Social Services that endeavours to facilitate a greater understanding of Islam and Muslims in Australia by opening up the mosque, the centre of the Muslim community, to the wider Australian public.
The event will again see a number of mosques around the country opening their doors to the wider Australian public, in an attempt to go some of the way to improving social cohesion and breaking down various misconceptions and misunderstandings. This will be done by providing an engaging opportunity for discussion and education between Muslims and non-Muslims.
Some activities on the day will include:
– Guided Tours of the Mosque
– Introduction to Islam & Q and A from the local Imam
– Learn about animals from an Islamic perspective and the chance to get up close and personal with some friendly reptiles Refreshments will be available on the day.
Date: Saturday, October 31 2015
