Monthly Discussion Group
The Objective of the group is to gain a deeper understanding of the three Abrahamic Faiths (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) and of our personal faith journeys. In sharing with others we gain mutual benefits of greater understandings of our own lives and those of others. All age groups are welcome.
We look forward to meeting you all and to continuing on our journey of mutual discovery.
The group meets every second Tuesday of the month:
Location: On-line on zoom

“Back to the Future: The Condition of Jewish Belief (1966)”- Tuesday 14 June, 2022
In 1966, Commentary Magazine published 38 essays on The Condition of Jewish Belief. It focused on five questions and invited a number of rabbis, theologians and philosophers to reflect on the state of Jewish belief.
In a “Back to the Future” time-warp, our June discussion group will look at three of the 38 essays: by Eliezer Berkovits, Emil Fackenheim, and Jacob Neusner and reflect on how much has changed in the last 56 years?
We will seek to learn something about the nature of Jewish belief today from a time when religious belief across the Western world was changing radically. We hope to stimulate discussion around the way that not only Jewish belief but also Christianity and Islam has been challenged by “modern” outlooks.
Dates: Tuesday, 14 June 2022
Time: 7.00 -8.30pm
Format: On-line – Zoom
